During this time your child will also be encouraged to color in the lines. They will be given helpful hints such as “always start at the top when you write.” We will also show them the proper way to hold a pencil.

*Transitional time Play-doh, felt friends, puzzles, dress up, puppets coloring, playing with manipulatives (rice, water, sand, or shaving cream,) writing your name practice, connects, sticker pictures or free time.

*Planned curriculum- Star Brite Curriculum that is professionally planned, (with daily, weekly and monthly themes, (meets or exceeds all state standards.)

*DVD time- I use top quality, award winning DVD’s that reinforce what we

have been teaching your child, things like Spanish, how to write (from top to

bottom), ABC’s verbally and by sight and the correct pronunciation of each

letter sound, colors, shapes, opposites, #’s, manors, all about animals, songs,

and nursery rhymes! 95% of the time the video matches the theme for that

week and is educational. (Occasionally we pick a Disney one for fun.)

*The Children’s Bible on DVD-

Little Butterfly’s is a Christian based Preschool program. Each week

(August-May) one new story is picked out from the Bible and presented to

the children throughout the week. After each video presentation the children

learn a new song, in a very capturing way, this enables the children to learn

more about God. Afterwards we talk about what they have learned and how

the story applies to their lives. This is an e-mail quote from a parent on their

thoughts about this part of our program:

Just in case you ever wondered...the bible stories that you are showing the kids make a difference!  Shane told me all about the story today of David and Goliath...how God helped the little boy kill the giant and how he can ask God for help.  THANK YOU for teaching my children such IMPORTANT things! Carla”
